Dogwood Arts festival

In nature, blooms often spring forth from a pod, and this spring, it is not much different, only this is a different kind of pods! PODS, or Portable on Demand Storage, is donating a much needed storage container to Dogwood Arts’ Rhythm N’ Blooms. This 3-day American Roots music festival, taking place from April 4-6, is set amidst the artistic cityscape of Jackson Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee for the first two days, and then, like seeds carried by the wind, moves to the Knoxville Botanical Garden & Arboretum on Sunday. The donated PODS brand storage container will help Dogwood Arts with the additional space needed to securely store items, allow specific personnel access various items during the festival, and provide an easy transition for the event move from the Old City to the Botanical Gardens. Trinity Serves DayResetting to a new country and community with different customs and cultures can be a shock for any family, even when you are refugees. This transition is made a little easier, however, with the 9th annual Trinity Serves Day project of the Trinity Presbyterian Church. Over 400 members will engage in more than thirty outreach projects on Saturday, March 1st, 2014, and one of these projects, done in conjunction with PODS, Portable On Demand Storage, will collect furniture and household items to completely furnish apartments for two refugee families. The first event of the initiative, an equipment donation drive, is being held January 21 and 28th during tryouts, at Buckhead Baseball, 445 Pharr Rd NE, Atlanta, GA, 30305. One of the most pressing challenges of certain inner city leagues is the shortage of player equipment including bats, gloves and helmets. Players and parents of Buckhead Baseball are being asked to make donations of new or lightly-used equipment, which will be collected and transported to the Braves Baseball Academy in South Atlanta. The Westminster Schools Atlanta Refugee Project Goes National with PODS!

Working with their non-profit partner, Refugee Resettlement and Immigration Services of Atlanta (RRISA), Westminster was able to set up twelve homes using donations of gently used furniture and household goods.
