Moving to Austin
Austin is a fun place to live. Many people move here for an education, with the city being home to the primary University of Texas campus. You'll find several other smaller universities and colleges throughout the area, as well.
If you’re looking to settle down in a vibrant art community filled with art galleries, boutiques, and tea shops, definitely check out the areas of South Congress and Boulder Creek. This is the heart of Austin and where the slogan “Keep Austin Weird” originated. For more of a traditional community feel, Cherrywood is the neighborhood for you. A mix of residential streets, parks, small businesses, and homey restaurants make this East Austin neighborhood family-friendly.
The Texas capital is a popular draw for musicians and people who love live performances. The city hosts two huge festivals every year: Austin City Limits and South by Southwest. The former is a more traditional festival experience comparable to Lollapalooza, Coachella, and Bonnaroo. The latter mixes huge concerts with smaller, more intimate shows with up-and-coming bands and established indie acts. South by Southwest also hosts tons of other events, including trade shows, keynote speakers, and a film festival.
Austin is famous for its nightlife scene, as well. For an evening of fun that stretches into the next morning, many people simply walk down Sixth Street and stop at whatever bars and clubs catch their eye. There are also plenty of opportunities to explore the Texas countryside and other historic sites in nearby neighborhoods and cities, such as Round Rock, Lakeway, and New Braunfels.

Things to Do and See in Austin
● Barton Springs Municipal Pool: For a one-of-a-kind experience, check out Barton Springs Municipal Pool. This spring-fed pool is always around a refreshing 68-70 degrees throughout the year. Just remember that on scorching Texas days, the pool attracts hundreds of visitors who are eager to cool off.
● Zilker Metropolitan Park: For a more traditional waterfront experience, check out Zilker Metropolitan Park. The water is regularly populated by kayakers, canoers, and paddle boarders. Along the shore, you'll find space for picnicking, fishing, and other activities.
● Blanton Museum of Art: Head indoors to cool off at the Blanton Museum of Art. This museum features a permanent collection of nearly 18,000 works, as well as many temporary exhibits throughout the year.
